okay I think mako was pretty clumsily written too, even though he was still my favorite (non-adult) character

but calling him a horribly disrespectful mistake because he’s an “insult to the memory of Mako Iwamatsu” is…. just the teensiest bit… overdramatic???

Oh dang, Korra season finale tomorrow! I’m super excited! Would’ve noodled with this more, but it’s starting to thunderstorm over here and I should probably disconnect from the cintiq.

One thing that I love about the new Avatar series is how adults are allowed to be fully-formed characters and be present. Heck, nearly half of the main cast is over the age of 30! And they’re all amazing and fun and rounded and flawed. It’s refreshing to see a cast of adults in a kids’ show being allowed to be adults and not clueless foils.

Also Tenzin has a rockin’ coherent design and he’s made out of a tower of pointy bells.

non-spoilery korra thoughts. just speculation.

have we seen korra actually do any avatar-y things, besides being able to use all the elements? because tom had a thought: maybe she’s not actually the avatar………….. i mean, surely there’s no way to know FOR SURE, WITHOUT A SINGLE DOUBT that only one person can possibly master more than one element. it seems like they found her and just stopped looking, completely. that would be kinda neat! maybe she’s just really tough and talented. although maybe they’re just trying not to reuse plot elements since things like avatar state and communing with with previous avatars was a big part of the first series. or maybe they’re just holding out on communing with previous avatars because they want the return of aang to be a big moment.

still holding out hope for amon being sokka CMON IT WOULD BE SO COOL AND RAD
