spoilers for the new adventure time episode, lady and peebles! i just had a thought about it is all

i just realized as i am lying in bed trying to sleep- that jake and lady are an unmarried couple on a children’s cartoon show that are gonna have kids. which implies premarital sex!

now i know its not cool to think about jake and rainicorn doin’ it; that’s not what i’m excited about. i just remember watching xmen evolution as a teenager, and being surprised/shocked at one particular line of dialogue: “the professor has a son? i didn’t even know he’d been married.” the concept of him having a son without having been married first was not even in the realm of possibility!

i found it really weird that a children’s show would consider the mere idea of children outside of wedlock so inappropriate as to be unmentionable. so yay, adventure time!
