Anonymous asked: Have you read the His Dark Materials trilogy? It seems like the monsters play a daemon-like role to the kids, and I was wondering if you felt the same way.

it is, sincerely, my favorite book series of all time and i’d be lying if i said monster pulse was not influenced by it pretty strongly!!! when i first started thinking about lulenski she was basically just mary malone (but is her own character now) (i hope)
